Since being appointed CEO of iCarnegie in 2009, Gil Taran has led the restructuring of the company to focus on areas of workforce development, capacity building and educational strategy. These areas are intended to help countries enhance their market competitiveness and develop their local economy through building the skills of their people. Taran is ideally suited to lead iCarnegie, having extensive international business experience in more than 20 countries, as well as notable teaching credentials. He has used that background to position iCarnegie as an Educational Strategy company that has engaged organizations in India, Russia, Colombia, Kazakhstan, Israel, Panama, Brazil, the Middle East and North Africa interested in transforming the lives of their people through education. Taran has taught both at the undergraduate and graduate level at Carnegie Mellon university, most recently in the Masters of Software Engineering Program in the School of Computer Science and the Software Engineering Institute.
